Experience that Works for Pennsylvania
Rob McCord is one of Pennsylvania’s leading business finance experts and a passionate Democrat who is running for Pennsylvania State Treasurer. As Treasurer, Rob will use his energy and experience to help create jobs for hard-working Pennsylvanians, grow the state economy and stop wasteful spending in Harrisburg.
As a business leader – not a politician – Rob has managed more than one billion dollars in assets and has raised money for start-up companies that have created more than 1,900 jobs in the state. Rob has served as co-founder and Managing Director of Pennsylvania Early Stage Partners – a family of three venture funds that invests in early-stage life-science and information technology firms – and he co-founded the Eastern Technology Fund, a successful provider of funding that serves more than 800 innovative companies.
A Lifetime of Involvement
Before beginning his career in business and finance, Rob spent nearly a decade working on Capitol Hill where he specialized in budget and regulatory issues. Rob worked for a number of Democrats in the House and Senate, including former U.S. Senator Al Gore (D-TN), former House Transportation Committee Chair Norm Mineta (D-CA), former Congressman and leading environmentalist Bob Edgar (D-PA) and former Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Tony Coelho (D-CA).
Even after leaving Capitol Hill, Rob remained active in Democratic politics. He has helped elect Democratic candidates at every level including Governor Ed Rendell; Senator Robert P. Casey; U.S. Representatives Jason Altmire, Patrick Murphy, John Murtha and Allyson Schwartz and Mayor Michael Nutter.
Pennsylvania Roots
Rob lives in Montgomery County with his wife, Leigh, and their two sons, Jack and Grant, just a mile from where Rob and his brother were raised by their single mom. Rob received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he has taught as an Adjunct Professor.
